PATIENT INFORMATION

Your operating surgeon will arrange your procedure booking with Toowoomba Surgicentre and provide you with all relevant information including our comprehensive information booklet and admission forms relating to your procedure.

Please take time to read all documentation you receive as this will help to familiarise you with Toowoomba Surgicentre's policies and requirements prior to your surgery.

Our pre-admission nursing staff will contact you shortly before your procedure to ensure your complete understanding of any pre-operative instructions and to affirm your suitability for day surgery.

It is important to note that the Toowoomba Surigicentre fee for surgery is not claimable through MEDICARE and patients who are not covered by private health insurance or Workcover are required to settle their account on the day of their procedure. We advise our patients to contact their Health Insurance Provider prior to the procedure to check the coverage provided by their particular Health Fund.

Escort/Carer:

It is the Toowoomba Surgicentre's policy that all patients are discharged from the facility into the care and responsibility of their escort or carer. Please note that your procedure may be cancelled if you fail to comply with this important safety requirement.

Anaesthetic

Following anaesthetic, it is recommended that you avoid:

• Driving
• Operating machinery
• Signing documentation
